Lily Gladstone is set to work alongside Saturday Night Live cast member Bowen Yang in a remake of 1993 romantic comedy The Wedding Banquet.
The Oscar-nominated actress, 37, will appear opposite the SNL personality, 33, in a remake of the motion picture for filmmaker Andrew Ahn, Variety reported Thursday.
Joan Chen, Kelly Marie Tran and Yuh-jung Youn are expected to join the pair in the cast of the forthcoming movie, with Ahn and James Schamus penning the script.
Production on the motion picture is slated to commence next month in Vancouver, the outlet reported. The storyline of the movie 'follows what happens when Min’s boyfriend Chris rejects his marriage proposal, according to Variety.
In the film, according to the outlet, 'Min convinces his best friend Angela to marry him instead, paying for her partner Liz’s IVF treatments in exchange for his green card. However, things begin to unravel when Min’s grandmother makes a surprise trip from Seoul to throw the couple a Korean wedding banquet.'

Gladstone has had an eventful 2024 so far, as she was nominated for a number of prestigious acting honors for her work in last year's lauded Killers of the Flower Moon from filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
The Kalispell, Montana-born performer took home a Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for her performance as Mollie Burkhart in the film.
Gladstone, in achieving the milestone, became the first Indigenous actor to capture the Best Actress award.
'This is a historic one, and it doesn't belong to just me,' she said in her acceptance speech on January 7, 2024 in Beverly Hills, California. 'I'm holding it with all of my beautiful sisters in the film and my mother [in the movie] Tantoo Cardinal.'
She added, 'I'm so grateful that I can speak even a little bit of my language because in this business, Native actors used to speak their lines in English and then the sound mixers would run them backwards to accomplish Native languages on camera.'
Gladstone also collected Best Actress honors at the Screen Actors Guild Awards; and had been nominated at the Academy Awards and Critics Choice Awards.
The period piece in 1920s Oklahoma featured an ensemble cast including Gladstone, Cardinal, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow and Brendan Fraser.
The Wedding Banquet remake is an updated version of the 1993 film from Ang Lee that garnered the Lee an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film that starred Winston Chao, May Chin and Ah-Lei Gua.

Lee said in a statement Thursday that he was pleased that the 31-year-old film will be remade: 'I look forward to seeing what Andrew Ahn and his wonderful cast create.
'It warms my heart to see how my film from so many years ago has inspired a new generation to reimagine a new and different version,' Lee said, according to the publication.
Bleecker Street CEO Andrew Karpen, an executive producer on the movie, said in a statement: 'I'm delighted to re-team with my longtime friend and colleague, James Schamus, on this inspired reimagining of a classic rom-com for the modern era.
'Andrew Ahn is a force to be reckoned with and I'm very excited to see the new heights that he and James will take this story to.'
