IntroductionJenna Dewan and Channing Tatum will soon be having a hearing regarding their divorce and Magic Mike
Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum will soon be having a hearing regarding their divorce and Magic Mike financial disagreements.
The exes will be battling it out at a hearing scheduled for tomorrow, April 12, according to People.
Tatum and Dewan have yet to come to a financial settlement and agreement surrounding revenue from the actor's wildly successful Magic Mike franchise.
The exes have struggled to settle a dispute over profits from the franchise for the last few years. They were declared legally single in 2019, a year after Dewan filed to end their marriage of nearly 10 years.
Both Dewan, 43, and Tatum, 43, are seeking to have one another testify at the hearing.

According to Dewan, the largest issue in contention was the resolution of their Magic Mike investment
Dewan has listed both herself and her ex on her 'preliminary witness list', according to court documents viewed by People.
Her estranged husband has also placed Dewan and her fiance, Steve Kazee, on his witness list.
Dewan has requested that both she and her ex 'testify regarding all issues related to the parties' marriage including business and financial activities,' according to the filing obtained by People.
As for Tatum, his legal documents state that Kazee 'is expected to testify regarding his and Petitioner’s cohabitation, joint expenses and all related matters.'
Dewan and Tatum tied the knot in 2009 and share daughter Everly, 10, together. The actress filed for divorce in 2018.
At the hearing, the 'key issues' the exes will be addressing are division of property, breach of fiduciary duty, reimbursement claims, support, and legal fees.
Among the issues of contention is the intellectual property for Magic Mike.
According to Dewan, Magic Mike is the 'largest issue' to be resolved.
She alleges they acquired the intellectual property together and highlighted the importance of settling the 'characterization and division' of Magic Mike first as it 'will impact the resolution of the other financial issues in this case.'
Dewan claimed progress on the issue had been held up due to her ex's refusal to 'accept an equal division of the Magic Mike intellectual property.'

In addition, Dewan has alleged her ex placed revenue into 'an irrevocable trust'. She also claimed he gave licensing rights to a third party without informing her.
But her ex has denied her claims, and his attorneys allege in documents that Tatum 'has expended extensive efforts since separation towards the enhancement of the Magic Mike intellectual property and related entities, which Respondent contends give rise to his separate property interest therein.'
The documents also state, 'The Court will need to allocate the community interest and Respondent's separate property interest in the intellectual property and related entities in consideration of Respondent’s post-separation efforts.'
Dewan also claimed Tatum did not inform her about other business opportunities arising from Magic Mike and received 'one hundred percent of the profits' following their split. She claims she was not made aware of this.

In addition, she alleges her interest in their Saints and Sinners, LLC restaurant was sold by Tatum to a trust.
Dewan states other issues in their split can be sorted once they come to an agreement about Magic Mike. A custody agreement regarding their daughter was previously decided upon.
The actress has listed her ex's business manager Eric Fulton on the witness list to address the former couple's 'business and financial activities.'
He is expected to speak on the 'intellectual property' of the Magic Mike franchise and its finances.
There are numerous people set to testify about Magic Mike, and the film's director, Steven Soderbergh, has also been listed as a witness by Tatum.
Soderbergh directed the original 2012 film, Magic Mike.

Dewan has also provided an exhibit list for the trial. Among the items are various documents such as joint income tax returns submitted when they were married and after they split.
Her ex also has cited financial documents and other items.
Both Dewan and Tatum have moved on romantically since going their separate ways.
Dewan is now engaged to actor Steve Kazee. They share four-year-old son Callum Kazee and are currently expecting their second child together.
Tatum is also engaged to actress Zoe Kravitz.
Dewan and Tatum began dating after meeting on the set of Step Up, wed in 2009, and split in 2018.
Announcing their separation on Instagram, the exes said: 'We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple.
'We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.
'There are no secrets or salacious events at the root of our decision - just two best friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.'
